Peace Winds, in cooperation with our Ukrainian partner organization 100% LIFE, supports the continuation of medical service at medical facilities in the northern and eastern parts of the country, by providing indispensable medications. Those areas have sustained serious damages during the military invasion, thereby basic medical service was severely damaged.
In the immediate aftermath of the invasion, seven of the Ukrainian regions, including Kharkiv, Kyiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk and Luhansk, have suffered from severe shortage of basic medicaments making it very difficult for medical facilities to continue providing treatments. In order to help them tackle this problem, Peace Winds and 100% LIFE embarked on this project to provide necessary medications to local facilities.
Peace Winds selected target hospitals which were heavily affected by the war and were in dire need of medicines in order to ensure the timely saving of the lives of their patients under the difficult times of conflict. Based on previous survey among medical facilities to identify necessary medications, we provide medications such as pain reliever, antifebrile, anesthetic, antihypertensive, anti-diabetic drug, antibiotic, antiemetic agent. In six months since May 2022, we have delivered medicaments to 29 medical facilities.
We will continue our effort so that the medical service is available to as many patients as possible.
This project has been made possible with the support and donation of the Japan Platform as well as all unyielding dedication of each person involved in the implementation of the project.
